Opal is a hydrated amorphous form of silica, and because of its amorphous character it is referred to as a mineraloid. It's water content can range anywhere from 3% to 21% by weight but it is usually around 6-10%. The internal structure of opal causes it to diffract light.

These charming pieces have a warm sky blue color with a slight translucency that would make it great for delicate designs and any designs based around the Throat Chakra. Some of the pieces have dendrite inclusions and some have creamy white coloring and some are banded with a deep grey to black. Each cabochon is unique!
